High Current Arc Ignition Tester
This device conforms to standard requirements of UL 746A, UL746C, UL 498 clause 114, IEC 60950-1, BS EN 60950-1, BS 7002, etc. It is suitable for arcing resistance test of the materials of electric and electronic products, household appliances and etc. The working principle is to simulate the electric leakage on the insulator which may be caused among different polar of live parts or between live parts and grounded (earthed) metal parts. It is used to measure and assess the arc resistance performance of insulator under the prescribed voltage.
High current arc ignition tester adopts dual electrodes. With specific current (33A) and power factor (COSφ0.5), according to a certain arc strike speed (254mm/s) and repetition frequency (40 times/min), repeatedly arc strike to 200 times on the surface of specimen. The large current arc ignition performance (HAI) can be assessed according to whether the sample can be ignited.

1.Functions of Panel
POWER: Turn on the power switch and the device is powered on.
2.STOP/START: To stop or start testing or debugging.
RESET: Clear the current displaying value of test times.
COMPLETION: The sound and light alarms will be given out after testing completion.
AUTOMATIC: Run the testing automatically
MANUAL: When choose the manual mode, the motor can start working even operator doesn’t press the start button, it is convenient for debugging.
TEST: Choose this mode, the device will process testing normally after debugging.
DEBUGGING: Under [AUTOMATIC] mode, press [START] button, slowly rotate the knobs to adjust the current and voltage, until the working current reaches 33A (220V-240V), and the power factor is fine tuned to 0.50.
3. The installation of the test sample
4.As shown below, when the power is turned off, fix the 130 mm x 13 mm x (2 ~12) mm sample to the jig, adjust the position of the electrode so that the two electrodes are at an angle of 45 ° and in good contact. The height of the specimen can be adjusted by adjusting the three plum bolts.
When install the electrodes, must fix the screws tighten on the electrodes fixtures, or the electrodes will fall off.
